It turns out that everything I was told about a Fiji vacation is true: it really is relaxing to the max, the people really are beautiful and welcoming, and yes yes yes they really do love kids. Even the clear turquoise shorelines hemmed by coconut palms and golden sand are real too. At least that’s how we found them on the Coral Coast and more specifically the Warwick Fiji Resort where my husband, myself and our 4 young children spent a gloriously decadent week.
The girls had their hair beaded – a very popular activity for young girls at the resort.
An afternoon walk on the pier.
Riding in cars with kids.
Dan, our taxi driver and his All Blacks cab – rugby is an obsession in Fiji.
The Namatakula Choir entertaining guests at the Sunset Bar.
Enjoying a Fiji Blue.
Finding the hotel staff too entertaining for words.
Did I mention ‘No pressure’.
Village huts by the beach just beyond the resort.
The locals make cracking coconuts look easy.
Sun, sand and snorkelling.
A father gives his daughter a lift after renewing his wedding vows.
The resort band heading home to the village after work.
Waiting for the bus.
Village school girls.
The many modes of transport.
Our final view before we boarded the plane home to Australia. Farewell Fiji.
Thankyou so very much to Escape Travel who, through a recent promotion, gave our family the opportunity to experience this beautiful part of the world.
